A Vase of Fire and Mud

The Story: Believe it or not, this vase is wheel thrown. I started with a mash of bits of 5 different kinds of clay. Left it with air bubbles and imperfections. I then slowly started throwing the messy ball. Each time my form started loosing its footing, I would heat gun, tie up with twine, and add more messy clay. This piece took well over the amount of time to throw and build than a piece this size without the texture would take to throw. Despite its crackling look, vase holds water as vase should.
