Tacky Tabletop Series 3

The Story on This Series:
I hadn't made any clay items for several months, each time I would get out a bag of clay I just wanted feeling it. As this was going on, I had gotten an offer to teach the kids at the neighborhood center ceramics. As I was observing the kids making their items, they just had this ease about their projects. I would have thought as they were handing me "cups" that clearly wouldnt hold water, they might have gotten upset about this. But no, they were just happy to be getting messy and to have access to art. This inspired me to just go home and make something stupid and pretty. After a few long nights the yellow ceramic pieces were born and fired. Now, these pieces are beautiful. HOWEVER since I made them with the mind of a CHILD they dont balance the best on their own. THIS is when the rugs were born. I took on the fortitude of those children and i brought the project further instead of pouting over my shortcomings. The rugs were tufted by me. The purpose it serves is to keep your little ceramic in place. and it it ever does fall over it falls on a nice soft surface.
So, yeah, heres some pretty ceramics on a delightfully tacky rug. All handmade by me. Ceramics is food safe. Rugs are finished with no slip backing and are washable.
